Visitors to Hanami had to wind through a labyrinth of corridors behind the courtroom.

The light installation was interactive meaning visitors had to go deep inside the darkened room to activate an electronic dimmer which faded the lights up. In the default position the lights were programmed to be on very dimly.

After overcoming their initial trepidation, the more adventurous visitors had a lot of fun playing with the lighting system and figuring out how it worked.

Two notices on the table in the centre of the room gave clues as to how to make it function. Essentially the system was programmed to fade back down if no movement was detected after 3 seconds.
